Dr. Clinkscales is a fellowship-trained, orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon who joined HSA in 1998 after three years of teaching full time at UCHeath. After completing a degree in Religion from Davidson College (NC), he earned a medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta (GA). Dr. Clinkscales completed residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (MN) and completed his fellowship training at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis.

Honored by 5280Magazineas one of Denver’s top doctors, Dr. Clinkscales regularly contributes to medical education by delivering presentations and publishing articles and demonstrating cutting-edge techniques in hand and upper extremity care.

Dr. Clinkscales has loved being able to raise his family in Colorado. More recently, he has enjoyed embarking on a variety of international medical missions alongside his wife and two sons. Dr. Clinkscales spends his free time traveling, skiing, scuba diving, or just reading especially if its with family or friends.

Specific interests include work injuries, sports injuries, nerve compressions (such as carpal tunnel syndrome) hand arthritis, scaphoid fractures and non-unions, as well as nerve repair.
